Lot 2041 PRE-WWII U.S. SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTO

MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 220665. Bbl. 24". Replacement barrel is marked on right side "SA" and "4 54". Throat gauges 2.0. Muzzle gauges less than 1.0. Rifle produced in April of 1941 and subsequently updated. T105E1 rear sight. Sight cover appears to be modern replacement. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA" including operating rod with relief cut. Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked with encircled "P" proof under grip and "15" rack number in white at end of grip. Green web sling. CONDITION: buttstock has amateur gunsmith type bedding job and arsenal rework type finish with several filled areas on right side below receiver. Repairs are both wooden pin and bedding compound. Handguards have wear, staining and handling marks. Metal retains 75% of its lightly worn arsenal rework parkerization. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands. (26-208/RW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
